Let’s talk about smoothies.

Not only are they the prettiest of healthy drinks, smoothies are the easiest and tastiest way to get in your daily serving of fruits and vegetables. You can really drink these at any point during the day- breakfast, lunch or as a midday snack. However, I don’t really recommend using the blender so early in the morning before everyone else is awake. Nothing better than the obnoxious sound of a blender early in the AM, right? Yeah, my mom and a couple neighbors would have to disagree.

But I digress. If you want these smoothies for breakfast just make them the day before, pop them in the fridge, and then enjoy the following morning. Otherwise, feel free to make as much noise as you’d like during the day. Just kidding.

There are 3 smoothies that I like to make during the week. They’re all energy-boosting and refreshing in their own unique ways.

So let’s dive right into the recipes for these 3 Super Simple Smoothies:

The Greenest Green Smoothie

Yes, the green smoothie. These bad boys have taken over Instagram the past few years, proving to be a major “fad food” item. When it was first introduced into mainstream food world, many people (including myself) were intimidated by the color. A smoothie full of vegetables the color of a swamp was definitely not the stereotypical smoothie I love and know. And then like the rest, I gave these a try and to my surprise, I loved them. I will say, however, that it is really easy to make a BAD green smoothie. I’m sure you can imagine how adding too much spinach to your blend can be catastrophic for your taste buds.

Here are some ingredients to make the greenest, tastiest Green Smoothie yet:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup spinach
  • 2 kiwis
  • 1 banana
  • Honey
  • Water & Ice

What To Do:

  • Blend!

Summertime Grapefruit Mango Smoothie

This smoothie is my go-to treat. Lately I’ve been having it every morning when I wake up and sometimes as a snack after dinner. I just love the sweet taste of mangoes and how perfectly it pairs with the bitterness of grapefruit. I can picture myself lounging by the pool sipping on one of these this summer. Ugh, too bad it’s still February and we have a couple more months of arctic cold.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 grapefruit
  • 1 banana
  • 1 mango
  • Water & Ice

What To Do:

  • Blend!

Dark Forest Strawberry Smoothie

I’m a sucker for a classic strawberry smoothie. This strawberry smoothie happens to be super energizing and packed with vitamins. Along with the strawberries, I like to add blueberries and spinach to this smoothie. Blueberries are considered to be one of the most powerful “brain foods,” as they help protect the brain from stress and memory loss. And, don’t worry, the spinach won’t overpower the taste of the smoothie, instead it actually helps to balance out the tart flavor from the blueberries.

Ingredients:

  • Strawberries
  • Raspberries
  • Blueberries
  • 1/2 cup of spinach
  • Water & Ice

What To Do:

  • Blend!

I’ll probably just continue to drink these smoothies and daydream about warmer weather for the remainder of the winter. Hm, yeah, I guess that doesn’t sound too bad.
