Margherita Pizza is one of my all time favorite things to eat. There’s something about the crispy, but chewy crust, and all that deliciously smooth mozzarella cheese piled on top! Yeah, it’s probably all the cheese that drives me crazy… Seriously, there really is no other pie that can compare to the simple elegance of a classic margherita pie.

So, let’s make it!

  • Pizza dough
  • 1 ball of fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 1-2 tomatoes
  • Homemade tomato sauce
  • Basil
  • Olive oil

What to do:

  1. Begin by rolling out your dough. Your dough will most likely be sticky, so sprinkle a little flour onto your workspace before you begin.
  2. Lay down parchment paper onto a baking sheet. Once you have created a round(ish) shape to the size you desire, place the dough onto a baking sheet.
  3. Grab your homemade sauce and spread an even layer onto your crust, leaving about 2 inches for crust. My mom makes this sauce and it’s perfect for pizza! Maybe one day I’ll tell you how she makes it!
  4. Slice your fresh mozzarella and tomato and then place it onto the pie in any way you’d like.
  5. Then take your basil and place it on even sections of the pie.
  6. Drizzle some olive oil on top!
  7. Bake for approximately 10-15 minutes on 400 degrees or until the crust is golden brown and the mozzarella starts bubbling.
  8. Slice up with a pizza cutter and enjoy!

Here is the final product! A perfect size for a personal pie!

I also made a tiny pie with left over dough!

Thank you guys for reading and I hope you enjoy your Pizza Friday!
